Here in West Texas you can find a chicken fried steak at, pretty much, any restaurant, but a great chicken fried steak is another story.

The real question is what separates a great chicken fry (as we call it around here) from the rest? Well, the breading, tenderness, size, and gravy are all contributing factors, to name a few. Heck, chicken fried steak is its own food group according to many in the Abilene area. Since chicken fried steaks are so revered, we decided to take to our Facebook page to see who serves up the best in the Abilene area and the answers did not disappoint.
